Friday Fun Facts

September 9, 2011

Fact: It just took me so long to write the title of this post because my “I” key wasn’t working.

Fact: I just found a piece of millet under the “I” key.  I blame Joey and his addiction to granola?…

Fact: The rain has finally let up and it is the perfect early fall day here in Colorado.  This makes me genuinely happy.  Or maybe it’s the massage I just got.  Or, most likey, a combination of the two.

Fact: I miss my uncle.

I think know my mom does too.

Fact: My life is much happier with the addition of this device.

I looked at bottles of Pam (and the like) at the grocery the other day and kept wondering why I couldn’t find one that was just made of olive oil.  I left empty-handed, went home and bought a Misto on Amazon.  And now I’m a happy girl.

IMG_2751

Fact: I should have bought this eggplant last week and the Farmers’ Market.

IMG_2684

Fact: I cooked once this entire week.  And by cooked, I mean I cut up a pre-made roll of polenta, topped it with some corn, beans, salsa and cheese and heated it in the oven for 15 minutes.  And then I watched Jersey Shore.  It was quite the classy night.  And surprisingly delicious.  Dinner I mean, although Pauly D is delicious too, if you ask me.

Fact: I don’t have time to cook, but I have time to go to Biker Jim’s.  Twice.

Don’t judge.

Fact: Friday calls for spontaneous trips to Whole Foods.  I didn’t need a Kombucha, but I wanted one.

IMG_2758

Gingerberry for the win.  I wanted Grape, but they only had Grape chia and as much as I like chia seeds, I don’t think I’d enjoy drinking them.

Fact: I saw this sign as I was walking into WF and was so excited!  Only to realize I work that night.  Bummer.

IMG_2756

Fact: I only spent $6 at WF?!  I didn’t even think that was possible.  Probably because I was all set to splurge on my first jar of sunflower seed butter and they were out.  Go figure.

Fact: Friday pancakes are still a weekly tradition around these parts.

Fall trees sparkling in the background = love.

Fact: Last night I looked in my WordPress spam folder and found lots of comments that were most certainly not spam!  Sorry if you were one of those comment-ers.

Fact: I just ate the best peach ever.

IMG_2689

Okay, it wasn’t this one, but you get the idea.  Thanks for sharing, mom!

Fact: My half marathon is exactly one month from today!

Fact: I have to go tend to some tomatoes now.

I think *I* am going to your spam folder..am I one of them? I never see my comments on your blog, but comment nearly every post. Hope they show!

Is that some sort of sugary cream drizzle between layers of pancakes? YUM!

    • September 9, 2011 3:33 PM

You were!! I was pretty convinced I had written some post that offended you and you had stopped reading altogether. So glad that was not the case! But you’re showing up now 🙂

      It’s strawberry banana Chobani!

  2. September 9, 2011 5:13 PM

MMM those pancakes look like S’mores!!! I’m jealous of your peach season…the only ones we have in our stores at this point are shipped from California.

  3. September 9, 2011 7:33 PM

Love those pancakes….we have them on saturdays usually. But I am thinking about cinnamon rolls in the morn 🙂

Oh and I am soo jealous of those massages!

  4. September 9, 2011 9:04 PM

Fact: we’ve been having crazy nice, summer-like weather here for the past week, and I kind of wish it would cool off and turn to Fall already.

Fact: I’m moving in less than a week and I’ve barely started packing. I see many frantic hours of me haphazardly throwing things into boxes in my near future.

    • September 10, 2011 8:55 PM

Bah, packing is such a hassle. It’s enough to make me hope I don’t move again for like 3 years.

  5. September 9, 2011 10:18 PM

We are running our races on the same day! One month until the marathon.. October 9. I’m so excited. 🙂 Now I have somebody else to “run with” even if you’re hundreds of miles away, and not doing the same race, time, or distance. Whatever.. still counts.

    • September 10, 2011 8:57 PM

Ohy gosh, that’s so exciting! I’ll be thinking of you and hoping the best while I run mine!

  6. September 10, 2011 6:20 AM

Bahah the “I” problem happend to me acouple weeks ago, except it was a grain of rice!! Yum I lovve Friday pancakes, yours are looking fabfab 🙂

    • September 11, 2011 9:37 AM

The funny this is, I remember dropping the millet on the keyboard but just ignored it. Thanks 🙂

  7. September 10, 2011 8:20 AM

Fact: I feel like I haven’t eaten for days! Hahaha, just thought I’d sharre 🙂

The I story totally makes me laugh! My puppy stepped on my computer and popped out the “1” button…now I have to literally SLAM on the 1 to get it to type!

    • September 11, 2011 9:37 AM

Go get yourself some food. girl!! Don’t you love the messes puppies make? 😛

    Lauren,
Love your posts( check them out daily) and tasty recipes especially breakfast. I am working on using up plums before they go out of season, can’t wait til our farmer’s market is back in Full swing.

      Hi Sheila!
It makes me so happy to hear you read my posts! Thanks 🙂
And good luck with “Mission: Plum.”

  9. September 11, 2011 5:49 AM

haha, I used to find food in my keyboard all the time. Luckily, my new keyboard doesn’t really allow for that. Good thing, because I’m sort of gross, I guess… :\ I love the idea behind the misto bottle thing, too!

Fact: I can’t remember the last time I put more than 15 minutes into a meal 😛

    • September 11, 2011 9:40 AM

Spending time on meals is overrated anyways 😛

  10. September 12, 2011 8:40 AM

That’s pretty much the best eggplant I’ve ever seen, haha!

I feel like I hardly cook anymore either. When school is in session, my idea of cooking is more ‘assembling’ meals than actually taking the time to cook!
