Who’s Who
In case you’re new to my blog, (or just can’t keep up with the weird nicknames, family members and significant other talk), this page is for you.
You’re welcome.
Here’s some frequently seen and often mentioned faces.
My mom.
She’s the one who’s not me on the left.
Things you should know:
- She’s a born and raised New Orleanian and can peel crawfish like the best of them.
- She’s a certified massage therapist, hence me talking about my mom giving me massages all the time. Jealous?
- Although she’s totally modest about it, I happen to think my mom is a fabulous cook.
- We’re incredibly close.
- She’s perfect.
My dad.
Things you should know:
- My dad is also a certified massage therapist. I know, now you’re extra jealous.
- Infamously late all.the.time.
- Incredibly funny. I like to think I got some of my humor from my dad. I know I got my hunger-induced irritability from him.
- Has way more fashion sense than I’ll ever have. Not cool, Dad. Not cool.
My sister.
Nicknames:
- Beanie
- Little Bear
Real name:
- Colleen. But don’t expect me to ever call her that. Really. None of us do.
Things you should know:
- I love my sister. Seriously. We may not have gotten along when we were younger but now that I’m older and wiser, I’ve come to realize she’s my best friend 🙂
- Despite the fact that she’s about at least 5 inches taller than me, she is 2 and half years my junior.
- She has fabulous hair. Now we can all feel jealous.
- She’s not so big into my picture taking, so don’t expect to see too much of her. But you’ll often hear about her.
Together, my dad and my sister make “the peas.” As in, peas in a pod. They are so alike, it’s frightening.
My boyfriend.
Aka Joey.
Aka my better, more optimistic, beer-loving, ice cream-adoring half.
Things you should know:
- Joey and I have been together for 4 years and have lived together for the past 2 and a half.
- Unlike this girl, he has a real 9-5 (or sometimes 9:30 to 3… :P) office job at a steel company.
- Loves: running, sports in general, beer and filling our DVR with shows that are not good.
My brother and my sister-in-law.
Aka Gabe and Nikki.
Things you should know:
- Gabe is my half brother, but I whole love him 😛
- He’s 13 years my senior.
- He and his wife, Nikki, live in Longmont and although I don’t see them nearly as often as I see the rest of my family (which I assure you, is sometimes too much), I love every minute we all get to spend together.
- They have a 2 year old son and a brand spankin’ new baby daughter.
- My brother is a glass blower (cool, huh?) and has always been an amazing artist.
My nephew.
Gennaro Nicholas.
Things you should know:
- He’s named after my brother’s grandfather, but we all just call him “G.”
- Total 2-year-old boy, puddles, toy jeeps and all.
- Loves: the movie Cars, pretending he’s shy and Joey.
My niece.
Belle Sophia.
Swoon, this little girl is too cute and I can’t wait to watch her grow up.
Huni.
Dachshund love.
This is my mom’s dog, and although she seems to be a great source of annoyance for my dad and sister, I think she’s pretty darn cute.
Then again I don’t have to live with her.
Things you should know:
- Commonly referred to as “Bun” by my mom and sister. As in Huni “Bun”ny.
- Loves: chewing on things you don’t want chewed on, taking napping breaks while on a walk, sprinting short distances before needing a napping break.
So there you have it.
If ever I write a post about “G” or “Beanie” or “Bun,” you’ll know who I’m talking about.
Props to me for resisting all urges to post the most embarrassing pictures I could find of all the individuals above.
