To Keep or Not to Keep (and Chocolate Chip Pancakes!)
Good, afternoon! It’s Friday!! Cue happy dance.
This morning I went on a glorious run before it got too hot. Or too rainy…
Then I came home for a fabulous Friday breakfast.
Guaranteed Good Mood Chocolate Chip Pancakes
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (or flour of your choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- dash of salt
- 1/2 cup + 2 T almond milk (or milk or your choice)
- small handful organic chocolate chips
- 1/2 banana, sliced in half lengthwise (optional)
- organic strawberries (optional)
- maple syrup for drizzling (optional)
**You should know that when I say “optional,” I really mean “I strongly urge you to use these if you have them on hand. And you should always have chocolate, bananas and maple syrup on hand.”
**Yes, those 2 T of milk really matter. It’s what stretches your batch from 4 pancakes to 5 pancakes. And when it comes to pancakes, 5 is always better than 4.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, soda, cinnamon and salt together.
- Add milk and mix.
- Add in your handful of chocolate chips.
- Grease your griddle pan and heat on medium.
- Pour your batter and set your banana slices face down. Flip once your pancakes fluff up and your banana begins to caramelize.
- Top with grilled banana slices, strawberries and whatever else you can find in your pantry.
- Drizzle with maple syrup and devour.
If that’s not a recipe for a good mood, I don’t know what is.
Onto more serious matters.

My laptop has been out of commission for quite some time now.
I’d love to get a new one, but that requires quite a bit of $$$. Plus there’s all the software to buy. Grooooan.
I’m saving up, but it might take some time, so for now I’ve been relying on Joey’s computer.
Which is scary since it flashes the “blue screen of death” at me then shuts down a couple times a day.
My blogging life is hanging by a thread!
Or I’m just being dramatic.
Anyways, in an effort to save Joey’s computer, we’ve decided to “clean it up,” or I guess “clean it out” would be more appropriate.
This means deleting some files. Like the increasing number of pictures I have…
That’s 2200+ pictures I’ve been hoarding.
You don’t even want to know how many I had on my 4-year old laptop.
But what do I do with all those food pictures. I wouldn’t dream of deleting people pictures, but do I actually need any of the others. Half are on my blog already, but what about the others? Those that “didn’t make the cut.”
Help!
What do you do with all your food blog pictures??
Happy Friday!
Five pancakes is definitely better than four, and when it comes to toppings, I definitely don’t consider maple syrup as optional… unless other deliciousness is involved, but even then… pancakes without maple syrup is just… weird.
As for the pictures, I store mine on those USB memory sticks, so they don’t take up any space on my computer. You can always transfer them to one of those 😀
I hate when I go out to eat and they don’t have real maple. Give the real stuff, or don’t give it to me at all! I’m thinking a USB is the best choice.
Chocolate chip pancakes are my absolute favorite! And I love your name for them: “Guaranteed Good Mood Chocolate Chip Pancakes.” Just the name in itself is enough to make me smile : ) And then actually eating the pancakes is pure bliss!
Amanda took the words right out of my mouth.
pancakes need syrup
USB memory sticks save blogging lives.
❤
And I love you both!
I know you’re young L, but remember pre-digi?…the day of taking film to the drug store for developing? And it was like 24 pictures a roll, or something ridiculous? And it cost money! Every picture was well thought out and carefully shot, because it was like 25 cents a photo. It was rare (for me at least) to get rid of any photo – good, bad, or ugly. Nowadays I take 20 shots of the same thing, just to keep 1 or 2.
Of course I remember!! I carried a disposable camera with my EVERYWHERE all the way through high school. I really think our generation will miss being able to show our grandkids old picture albums some day. Although I do still print some of my digital pictures out.
<<believe it or not, tons of people still shoot film 😛
the pancakes look so good. and i agree…what's a pancake without maple syrup?!
as for pictures…i usually back up to an external hard-drive or DVDs. food pics i usually just burn to DVD. i know i'll never NEED them again, but it is still hard to chuck them completely! i have them in folders so i try to keep the recipe-oriented ones and don't care so much about the others. just make sure you empty out your recycle bin after that 😉 (i assume you're smarter than me and are aware of that already, though 😛 )
I don’t know, I wouldn’t put it past me to forget emptying my recycle bin.
Can you put them on flash drives? You are a picture hoarder, they’re gonna put you on that show… 😉 bahaha -Jamie
Oh my god, that show is so gross! I promise I’m not hoarding any dead animals at least.
My computer looks very similar! I have wayyyyy too many pictures of food, meals, and random things– but I don’t even know where to begin deleting them haha 😛
I really just delete them as I go 😛
I keep all my food pics on my comp so if there’s ever an issue then bye bye pics lol Love those pancakes missy! Yummm 😀
For the pictures, I’d second Amanda’s way — the USB. 🙂
Pancakes are the BEST!! Especially with Peanut Butter. 🙂
I’ve been struggling with this blog picture thing myself. I have way too many and find my computer slowing down. I have started deleting some, especially the ones that never even make it to my blog and are just variations of the same thing. the ones i use on my blog i edit in Picasa, so i think i will just store the ones i like/use there and delete the originals in oorder to save my computer!
I’ve never used Picasa. How is it?
