WIWW?

June 15, 2011

I know, I know, I typed the WIAW acronym wrong.  That’s because I planned on today’s post being a “Where I Went Wednesday” post, but I couldn’t resist and ended up snapping a picture of most of my meals anyways.

So please enjoy this WIAW/WIWW combo post.

Oh and help me thank our host by visiting her lovely page and joining the party.

Peas and Crayons

So where did I go today?

I went on a run.

IMG_1476

It amazes me how big a time difference there can be between my first and last miles.  As in my first mile seems like a crawl compared to the last.  I’m okay with negative splits though and feeling like a rockstar as I sprint to the finish.

And what did I eat?

Overnight oats topped with granola, strawbs and the good stuff, aka peanut butter.

IMG_1479

The granola was a an attempt at a new homemade version.  A tropical version, if you will.  I’m not so sure I like it.  But then again I say that about every batch of granola I make and end up eating it by the handful anyways.

Then where did I go?

I went to get a massage.

IMG_1481

Where I had to explain to my mom that the bruises on the backs of my arms are from doing crow pose in yoga.

Then…

I went to pick up a mid-morning pick me up for my mom.

IMG_1482

It was the least I could do as a thanks for the massage 🙂

Mom doesn’t mess around with the iced lattes.  Venti or bust.

IMG_1483

I may have had one of my own except all decaf and only a grande.

So what did I eat for lunch?

A baked tofu, hummus, sprouts and basil sandwich.

IMG_1484

I’d been craving sprouts on a sandwich for a while and finally remembered to write it down on my grocery list.  If it’s not written, I will never remember it at the store.

Who knew basil and sprouts went so well together?

IMG_1485

By the way, this Dakota bread from Great Harvest set me back $7.  Sheesh!  And in my opinion, not terribly worth it.

IMG_1486

And where did I eat this?

At the Rockies game, of course!

IMG_1488

I’m officially considering myself good luck.  We won last night and today, I attended both games.

IMG_1490

And munched on an apple that Joey thought was too pretty to be eaten around the 6th inning.

IMG_1489

I swear apples sometimes make me more hungry, rather than less.

IMG_1491

I made a mad dash home for a snack.

In the form of cereal, almonds and raisins, naturally.

Crunchy Vanilla Sunrise makes my world go ‘round.

IMG_1492

Now I’m sitting in my sunny kitchen waiting for dinner to cook and Joey to come home so we can eat and head out yet again.  This time for a softball game!

Where did you go and what did you eat today?

Apples often make me more hungry.. too. Unless I eat them with something else!

I’m glad I’m not the only one – apples make me really full (almost uncomfortably so) for about 15-20 minutes, and then I’m starving again. I’ve learned not to rely on them for a snack.
And yikes – didn’t know Great Harvest was that expensive. I guess I’m not complaining that we don’t have one around here anymore :X
    ‘grats to your team!

Bummed that the bread didn’t live up to it’s price, but you live you learn, right? The cinnamon raisin is TOTALLY worth it though!

You were at the Rockies game last night? Lol! So was I…I took a whole bunch of kids there with my coworkers, so we all sat together like a big happy family in the Rockpile. I was so happy they won, and it was such a perfect night weatherwise. I LOVE night baseball games in the summer. 🙂

No way! If there’s a game, there’s an 80% chance I’m there. It really was a perfect night for baseball!

!! I have the SAME problem with apples – they only make me hungrier. It actually makes me laugh when I read in health magazines that apples make the perfect snack. *snicker* Yeah right. Only if you wanna keep snacking… I’ve actually found that fruit in general doesn’t make for a very good snack. I can eat my weight in fruit and feel bloated but still unsatisfied… which is sad because I love fruit *sniffle*

I feel the exact same way, Amanda!! It IS sad because fruit really does taste good 😦

Hehe, that’s okay. Fruit is necessary if only for the fiber (hello regular bowel movnt’s) 😛
I love sprouts in my sandwiches too! My mom can’t stand them though haha

Crazy that the Rockies won both those games 6-3 too! Amazing weather here yesterday afternoon for baseball. The business man special games (do they still call them that?) are my favorite. It’s even more fun being at the game while all the suckers are at work. Unfortunately I was one of the suckers at work yesterday. 😦 No complaints though…we got to go on Sunday and had a blast. Can’t do ’em all. *sigh*

Apples are my favourite fruit, but I know exactly what you mean about them making you hungrier. I’ve never had a message before! Looks like you had a fun day 🙂

Be careful about sprouts!! They’ve lately been harbouring e coli!!
Today was so exciting not. I went to the dentist with my little sister and made a mad fash through the supermarket to get smores stuff for my brother’s cub scout get together tonight. I’d rather have gotten that cereal you love- it looks great!
