Vacation Highlight: New Orleans Sights
I know you thought you saw it all yesterday – picture overload? – but Nola isn’t all about food. Every time I visit, which is a lot, I find new things to do and new sights to see.
Are you wondering when I possibly had time to do anything other than eat? Me too. But somehow I did.
So what was I doing when I wasn’t eating?
Jazz Festing
I’m not sure if this band was called Papa Grows Funk or Papa Knows Funk, either way they were funky. And fun
For the record, Michael Franti > Kid Rock, no matter how many people told me Kid Rock puts on a great show!
And for the record it may have been snowing back in Colorado but New Orleans in May is already hot.
I see you, Uncle.
Lizard spotting.
A prize to the person who can locate the lizard among the leaves.
French Quarter exploring.
It’s windy by the river and our hair wouldn’t cooperate.
But it resulted in my favorite picture from the trip. Kudos on capturing the moment, Joey.
Street car riding.
Fact: If you call the street car a trolley, you will sound like an idiot.
Magazine Street gallivanting.
Garden District touring.
That area is apparently full of all kinds of haunted homes. Creeeeepy.
What’s up, Sandra Bullock?
Boxer snot dodging.
Zephyr game watching.
Spillway visiting.
There’s so much water there. It scares me
Bourbon Street experiencing.
Drink a Hand Grenade from Tropical Isle: check!
And after you’ve seen everything there is to see, you sit and relax on the porch.
Is having a big porch with a fan and a blue painted ceiling a necessity in the south?
What’s the funniest vacation activity you’ve participated in?
Or
Do you have a big porch with rocking chairs that I can come sit in?
The hats are fabulous!
And the lizard’s head is poking up in the upper right quadrant of the photo 😉
No big porch here, but if I had one, you’d be welcome!
After further inspection, that lizard was a lot easier to spot that it looked on my camera preview.
Oh wow, that spillway photo surprised me. I had no idea there were still places like that down there!
I haven’t really gone on many vacations. Growing up, our “vacations” consisted of moving every 12-18 months. I went on one to visit my brother in LA a few summers ago. I’m going to visit the same brother again this Christmas, except now he is in NYC. Can’t wait! I’m going to eat SO MUCH.
Isn’t that crazy? Hope the city doesn’t flood! I’m so jealous you get to go to NYC, I’ve always wanted to go! Eat some yummies for me!
No fried foods in this post? Gasp! Lol And I love all the fun vacation pictures 🙂
Shocking, I know!
Looks like your trip was a lot of fun! I’m definitely pretty jealous too- I haven’t been there in years but would love to go back and visit. And I’m definitely loving all your pictures. 🙂
Thanks, Mandi!
oooh yes NOLA!! I love it! Last time I was there was a couple years ago. I don’t think I got my hair to look at lovely as yours though 🙂
Ha ha thank you! It’s taken a lot of practice to get my hair to behave in all that humidity.
