Don’t Be Such a Crab

January 2, 2011

It might be a new year but my breakfast habits haven’t changed one bit.

Oatmeal galore.  And some difficult topping decisions to make.

Cranberries are a new oatmeal mix-in staple.  I love having one in almost every bite.

Everyone tasted my roasted maple cinnamon almond butter on NYE and all agreed that it was pretty good.

And I rang in the new year with some festive looking oats yesterday morning.

Oh how I love you, little blue spoon.

After breakfast I did lots of Jersey Shore watching (I’m not proud of this!) then went out to lunch with Jenn, who’s moving to California today 😦  But I know she’s only a text away and believe me we text A LOT.

Beanie and I hit up the yoga studio by me for day #4 of yoga.  I’m going to do a final reflection on my week of yoga later but just know that I am LOVING it.  So much that I’m going to two classes today!

Dinner was enjoyed at my parent’s place.  My mom always does a special New Year’s day dinner.  Does anyone else celebrate the day instead of the eve?

My mom has a new found love of goat cheese, jam and crackers.

The makings of a salad.

Love this salad my mom makes with beets, goat cheese and a homemade orange vinaigrette.

Then we broke into the crab.  Pun intended.

I’m sure my mom was getting a kick out of how badly all of us non-New Orleans natives we were eating the crab.  I’m pretty sure I had it all over my shirt and lap.

Dips on the side.

Ended the night with Easy A.  It was alright but I wasn’t expecting much.

Off to yoga class #1 for the day!

    Food made me drool 😉
I really wanted to watch Easy A! Is it any good?

I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie but I know a lot of people who really liked it. I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself!
