Thoughts from the Mind of an Uninspired 22-Year-Old
Despite the fact that today has been an excellent day so far, I’m struggling with a bit of writer’s block.
Actually, this is something that happens on a weekly basis, I’ve just failed to mention it for the past year and a half.
Some days, I swear I could sit and write post upon post upon post filled with pictures and clever sayings. And sometimes I do do just that (and save them for later!). But other days, or in this case, other weeks, I feel like I really have nothing to say. I’ll scroll through my pictures and sometimes realize I’ve taken a total of 5 all week.
This has most definitely been one of those weeks.
Seriously, I’ve struggled all week with things to say. And one of my posts pretty much wrote itself!
I guess I could have written about the pedicure I just got with Hannah.
Fall = darker nail polish colors.
Wish I could remember the name of the color! Something to do with blackberries?!
I could have written about the dream I had last night where I got black out drunk and ended up in jail.
I blame last night’s episode of Jersey Shore, which I watched right before bed.

I could have written about my new desk chair!
I love the way it contrasts with our grey walls and gives a pop of color to the room 🙂
Plus the purple chair circa 2000 (or maybe before??) was looking a liiitle old and, well, purple.
I could have mentioned the fact that I skipped my run yesterday in lieu of the misty weather and took myself to yoga instead. I felt AWESOME. Why don’t I go to yoga more often? Oh yeah, because it costs money and involves driving for 25 minutes.
Or the fact that I was so hungry after my run this morning that pancakes (or anything that took more than 3 minutes to assemble) was out of the question.
RIP Pancake Friday.
Smoothies are best sipped in red desk chairs.
Looking quite freckle-licious.
I could have written about how I went to Borders today, hoping to get some crazy cheap books/movies before the store closed today. Only to arrive at an empty store. Talk about cleaned out!
It was actually quite depressing. There go my dreams of ever being Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail. If Borders can’t make it, Shop Around the Corner probably won’t either 😦

I could have told you that I’m currently obsessed with Valerie by Amy Winehouse and equally obsessed with Get Good by Vanessa Carlton. Both of which play at work. <— It’s sad when your taste in music is based on what’s being played in a coffee shop…
Oooor, I could have written about the meals I’m planning for next week. Curry, chili, squash, pumpkin spice syrup.
I’m especially excited about that last one 🙂
And one of those meals might involve silken tofu. I’m scuuured
Okay, I guess I did have a few things to write about.
I’m off to do some of this.
Purple margarita-drinking at the Rockies Game.
Happy Friday!

Do you ever struggle to come up with something to write about?
How do you combat writer’s block?
What are you doing on this lovely Friday??
WIAW & My New Nighttime Snack
Oh hey-o. Happy Wednesday to you all. I’m currently in a lovely mood that most likely has something to do with the gloom outside.
I know, who likes gloom? Well if it means reading a book curled up in bed and a breakfast of hot comforting oatmeal and tea, then the answer is me?
Plus it’s WIAW, so how could today be bad?
As always, a huge thanks to Jenn for hosting the WIAW party every week. Head over to Peas and Crayons to check out everyone else’s eats 🙂
Yesterday was weird because I didn’t have my pre-run snack, but I woke up not feeling hungry in the slightest and really wanted to get to the run ASAP. Sometimes I don’t eat before and halfway through will be hit with extreme hunger, but no such thing happened yesterday. I was totally okay with it.
Came home and had…
Breakfast:
Topped with raisins, chocolate hazelnut butter, peanut butter and granola.
I was totally like a little squirrel eating granola out of the container after I put it on my oatmeal. Just can’t get enough.
I was supposed to go into work at 11, but a girl I work with offered to stay late so I went in at one. Can that happen everyday?
Lunch:
Please excuse this horrid semi-blurry picture of tupperware.
Just be glad I didn’t share the one I tried to take in the office at work. Not good.
Mmmm, this was truly delicious. I only wish Joey would have known to double it when he made it!
Lunch Dessert/Snack:
Chocolate Peppermint Stick Luna Bar.
I first tried Luna bars a few weeks ago and I can’t remember what flavor it was, but it was not good. I was about to accept the fact that Luna bars just weren’t for me, but then they were on sale last week, so I did what any normal person would do when they came across something they didn’t like at a crazy cheap price.
Bought 10.
Lucky for me, all the flavors are not as bad as that first one and actually, I really liked this peppermint one! Tastes like candy.
Dinner:
Grilled Summer Vegetable Salad.
Meh. It was okay.
I think my taste buds have officially moved on and all they want is fall foods.
Nighttime Snack:
Warm vanilla almond milk + a baked good.
Except that last night it was pumpkin bread, not a muffin.
And actually, it’s never been that muffin, because that was an attempt at homemade banana pumpkin muffins that did not go well.
They’re in the trash right now. I don’t want to talk about it.
If you think warm milk is gross, I assure you, you’re missing out.
I’m off for a nice gloomy 3-miler 🙂
Happy (WIAW)ednesday!

Round Up: Who Knows
As in “Who knows why I have some of the pictures I do on my camera.”
Prime example.
And because I couldn’t stop there.
Who knows why she listens to me.
Carrots on a plate are extremely note/blog-worthy, right?
Oh right, I meant to tell you my new catch phrase is “Can you grill it?!”
I even went so far as to grill okra.
Scoff if you must, Louisiana relatives. I know my mom did.
So I won’t even mention that I ate a raw one. Oops, too late.
Who knows why I felt it necessary to take so many pictures of this smoothie, that I’ve been drinking on a daily basis.
You can drink it on the porch.
You can drink it with some spinach.
You can drink it with some pumpkin.
At the risk of starting to sound like a cheesy commercial, or a Dr.Suess book, I’ll stop.
But I’m not promising that I’ll stop drinking this smoothie. It has magic powers. Which allow me to make it to work on time.
Magic = being able to toss it in the blender and drink it in the car.
Apparently, this is my idea of a fun Friday afternoon.
And I have about ten pictures of random pages from inside the magazine.
Be glad I didn’t write an entire post with those pictures.
What’s that I hear? You’re wondering what the inside of my tea box looks like?
You can rest easy now.
Doesn’t this picture really capture the beauty of what I was drinking?
Actually, I think I was just making note of the fact that it’s a Skirt Chaser glass.
Bring it on, Joey. Bring it on.
I just found more pictures of that smoothie. I’ll spare you.

Do you ever take random pictures and look back and wonder why?
