WIA(While it Snowed)W
Welcome to yet another edition of “What I ate while it snowed Wednesday.” This is the view from my porch.
Usually I hate the snow, but I have the day off, so any excuse to bake, drink copious amounts of tea and cozy up with a book is encouraged. These things will all be done in my pajamas, naturally.
I hope pajamas are allowed at this party.
Thanks to Jenn of Peas and Crayons for hosting our weekly link up!
Breakfast:
Before you start thinking I’m boring and have the same pumpkin, peanut, chocolate chip, peanut butter oatmeal every morning let me point out that instead of peanuts, I stirred in some trail mix.
See? Totally different.
Lunch:
Crumbled bean burger, nutritional yeast, spinach and salsa all wrapped up in a tortilla.
Full fat cottage cheese on the side.
I’ve always had a thing for cottage cheese, but never remember to buy any.
Clearly, I remembered this week.
Snack #1:
Green grapes and a White Chocolate Macadamia Luna bar.
Green grapes > red grapes.
Dinner:
Bread on the side.
Snack #2:
Maple cinnamon roasted pumpkin seeds.
Made by Joey — what would I do without him?
The evening was rounded out with some Glee and The New Girl. The former had me wishing Joey had an Irish accent, the latter had me laughing hysterically. Then I happily passed out in my bed and woke up to this winter wonderland. Now the real question is, what should I bake today??
In my pajamas, of course.

If you were snowed in what would you spend your day doing? I’m not actually snowed in, but I’m going to pretend I am 😛
Red or green grapes?
Favorite thing to bake?
I will never judge someone for eating the same breakfast every day, ’cause that means I’d have to significantly change things up too. No thank you. I’m dreading the arrival of snow–I can pretend it’s still early autumn right now. Although I do enjoy spending a snowed-in day curled up with a book and hot chocolate!
Aww, hot chocolate would have been perfect yesterday! I was too busy drowning myself in tea to realize it.
Mmm generally I go for red grapes — but as long as they are cold and firm, I’m all over them (TWSS).
Hmmm, what to bake? Oatmeal raisin cookies always sound so homey!
I should have made oatmeal raisin!! There’s always next time.
Love your eats! I can’t believe the snow you guys are getting. I totally watched Glee and The New Girl last night and have the exact same feelings. Enjoy your day off!
I can’t believe it either… even though it happens every year 🙂
Your tortilla wrap looks great and what could be better than a side of cottage cheese!
I made a mess eating it, but I’m glad it started out looking good.
Haha, I eat the same breakfast daily too. So funny that you used trail mix this morning! As for the baking – I say a nice pound cake. I loved pound cake, especially with hot tea/coffee/chocolate!!
Mmmm, I’ve always loved pound cake!
Amazing healthy comfort food. I am jealous of this entire day.
Thanks, Sara!
I quite enjoy being snowed in too..except when we loose power.
I Green grapes. Sorry 🙂
You’re missing a word… and I’m going to pretend it’s “LOVE.” 🙂
Such pretty photos – especially those oats and the cute spinach veggie wrap.
I enjoy green grapes much more than the other variety as well.
Have a great week!
Thank you!!
Love green grapes! Yum those oats look fabfab! Happy WIAW 🙂
Yay for green grapes!
Ahh I love to bake anything and everything, any kind of cookie is my fav! I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing day with your book and pjs 🙂
It was awesome! And I went with cookies 🙂
I’m totally a green grape girl! I love to bake, what I bake just depends on my craving. Right now I’d like a slice of pumpkin chocolate-chip bread!
Mmmm, that sounds good!
We get a dusting on snow 2-3 times per year here. I’m always jealous looking at pictures but know that I wouldn’t actually want to live with it! At least not as an adult.. it was ok when my dad drove me everywhere.
Driving in the snow is definitely the worst part.
I made honey/cinnamon roasted pumpkin seeds yesterday, they are gone thanks to 3 hungry kids and a husband…but the 2 I tried were really good!
i wish i knew how you made your oatmeal. they always look so creamy and delicious…mine don’t ever turn out like that. can you share your secret?
I emailed you, Sara!
Wow, can’t believe you have so much snow!
I’m not a big snow fan but if I had the day off and just baked and curled up with a book I certainly wouldn’t complain 🙂
Your oatmeal looks delicious and your creamy potato soup looks just the thing for this sort of weather.
And maple cinnamon roasted pumpkin seeds look and sound amazing! Recipe please? 🙂
We just watched the newest episode of The New Girl tonight, and I laughed so hard my stomach hurt! I wasn’t totally sold on the show at first, but now I am a huge fan.
Snow already?? Craziness! 🙂
Wow, your breakfast looks soo amazing and now I’m craving oatmeal!
