Happy Halloween!
Scariest parts of the weekend include:
- waking up to a sink filled to the brim with dirty dishes
- seeing 5-year old girls in skinny jeans and knee-high boots holding purses and Starbucks
- the fact that I found my Halloween costume at Forever 21… and no, they don’t have a costume section
- that the only produce in my kitchen is a 5 pound bag of carrots — I’m out of bananas so I’m having cereal for breakfast, which means I’ll be hungry again in about ten minutes
- seeing yourself tagged in pictures on Facebook — ‘nuff said, right?
- watching your boyfriend try to make his own candles because you’re out and he needs to see what his carved pumpkin looks like lit up right now.
- how bad I Know What You Did Last Summer is — only made worse by the fact that you’ve seen Scary Movie way too many times and just keep thinking about the parody version while you watch the real version
- that your mom, dad and sister all now have iPhones, but you don’t even have a smart phone
- that it’s somehow Halloween already!!
Despite the fact that I’m kinda freaking out that it’s going to be November tomorrow, I’m happy that I ended October on a good note, with some pumpkin carving, “scary” movie watching, mac and cheese eating and costume partying.
Joey insists on doing a difficult design every.single.year.
I insist on doing the easiest one.
My sister wanted to be old school and draw her own design.
I seriously think this is adorable and every time I look at it I say, “awww!”
My pink panther plans were thwarted by my inability to get that costume together in a few hours, so I went the zebra route.
Although I would have been warmer if I had worn a hot dog suit like Joey.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a fridge to restock.
Happy Halloween!

Do you still dress up for Halloween?
What is your favorite Halloween tradition? Carving pumpkins is definitely mine!
I like the zebra look! That’s awesome that you were able to get at F21 too!
We didn’t dress up OR do pumpkins. Seriously, pathetic. Sigh.
Aw the zebra is cute, even if it was last minute! And girl, you gotta jump on the smartphone bandwagon! haha
I was expecting something more scandalous when you said you got your costume at Forever 21, the zebra is super cute though! Happy Halloween!
Oh how I miss the halloween days when I would dress up and partay! I wanted to go this year. The hubster wasn’t all for it. Of course that could be because the costume choices were Heff/playmate or the purple rain characters…….
I seriously love your sisters pumpkin, too! nommmm mac & cheese – make me some 🙂 sex and the city for me tonight, I hate scary movies even the bad one’s scare me!!

Haha I love the pumpkins! My fave tradition is eating the candy 🙂
Haha, I love the costumes! My favorite holiday tradition used to be stealing candy from my little siblings after they were asleep…I know, so evil…nowadays it’s getting the candy when it goes on a major sale the week after Halloween. They GIVE that stuff away, it’s awesome.
Glad I’m not the only one who always picks the easiest pumpkin carving designs. Some people make it look easy–but how? And ugh, cereal…how can anyone consider it a meal? I am with you, it fills you up sort of for ten minutes at most. Snack food, not meal food as far as I’m concerned.
