WIAW: I Can’t Say No

October 12, 2011

Well Happy Wednesday.  I’m impatiently awaiting the arrival of my repairman so this ceiling leak problem can be done with already.

Yesterday he sanded the ceiling and now everything, I repeat, everything, is covered in a layer of dust.  Good thing I have three days off next week, right?

I’m about to break out my new running shoes.

I thought I was a Nike girl, but I bought some Brooks yesterday and are hoping they work just as well as my tried and true pair of Nikes that I may or may not have worn through at least 8 races, two of which were half marathons.  The employee at Runner’s Roost informed me that the Nikes were completely shot.  Surprise, surprise.  My knees could have told you that.

But while I wait for Mr. Maintenance to come and for breakfast to digest, I’ll do a little WIAW partying.

Peas and Crayons

Thanks to Jenn for hosting our link up as always.

I sense a theme of “not being able to say no” this week.

Things I can’t say no to include:

Cinnamon rolls for breakfast:

And Vanilla Rooibos tea with hot frothy vanilla almond milk on top.

I can’t say no to free massages from my mom or invitations to lunch.

“The Green Thumb” from Smiling Moose

Spinach, artichokes, roasted red peppers, olives, tomatoes, and sunflower seeds with melted Swiss cheese and pesto mayo on a baguette.

It was early and I wasn’t quite hungry yet so I ate half and saved the other half for “second lunch.”

Which was eaten with an organic honeycrisp.

I can’t say no to organic honeycrips.

And although I totally planned on making dinner…

I can’t say no to an invitation to Bonefish Grill.

Also known as the world’s darkest restaurant, so please excuse the fact that I took zero pictures and accept this picture of my leftovers.  #badblogger

Plus un-pictured bread, bang bang shrimp and wine.

Then I proceeded to go home and fall asleep on the couch… at 9:30.  I know how to have a good time.

When I woke up at 10:15, I downed half a banana and some peanut butter and took my zombie self to bed.

Clearly, I can’t say no to a bedtime snack.

Things I would like to say no to include waiting any longer for maintenance to show up and going to work this afternoon.

What can’t you say no to?

I can’t say no to an open PB jar with a spoon. It’s my nemesis!

Um, did you make those cinn rolls? Yummmmmmm

    • October 12, 2011 2:17 PM

Yes I did make them! I got the recipe from Brittany at A Healthy Slice of Life. It’s pure genius.

    That sandwich looks wonderful!!

I can’t say no to a good pink lady apple. And your food looks good! Those shoes are snazzy–I bought Brooks after being a dedicated Asics girl, and absolutely loved them. And then I bought Pearl Izumis after those Brooks…and holy cow, even more improvement!

    • October 12, 2011 2:18 PM

I had a terrible experience with a pair of Asics. Never again!

      • October 14, 2011 1:32 PM

Ooh, sorry to hear that! I still love Asics, but I’ve found shoes I love even MORE (and that, of course, COST even more)

MMMM I just went to Bonefish Grill for the first time this weekend and it was AMAZINGGG. I died when I ate my first Bang Bang Shrimp. I can’t say no to pretty much any type of dessert…and carbs.

    • October 12, 2011 2:19 PM

The shrimp was so so good! Who would want to say no to dessert and carbs anyways 😛

Hmmm, why would you say no?

I have definitely not been able to say no to the bag of grapes hanging out in the front of my fridge. Every time I pop in there, I just grab one..two…
    maybe 7

    • October 13, 2011 8:48 PM

Is it even possible to not eat grapes like that?!

  8. October 12, 2011 4:07 PM

I’m pretty convinced that you could put cheese on just about anything and I will devour it!

  9. October 12, 2011 5:48 PM

Haha! Yeah I have a hard time saying no to a lot of things at times……like boots that I just ordered 🙂

Totally love the looks of the leftovers, and yes, Bonefish Grill is the darkest restaurant ever!

    • October 13, 2011 8:48 PM

I wasn’t about to even attempt to take pictures.

  10. October 12, 2011 6:18 PM

Pumpkin ravioli sounds awesome! I can’t say no to coffee.. ever.

    • October 13, 2011 8:49 PM

It was delicious and may have been the only reason I agreed to go 🙂

  11. October 12, 2011 7:42 PM

I can nevver say no to a bedtime snacky 🙂

  12. October 12, 2011 8:00 PM

  16. October 13, 2011 1:08 PM

I can’t say no to Sabra Roasted Garlic Hummus. I love that stuff, and I always eat it all before my husband gets any! I’m a total Nike Girl too. I’m afraid to try any other shoes even though I’m kind of having feet problems! I need to get myself to a running store for some advice. 🙂

    • October 13, 2011 8:50 PM

Who would say no to hummus anyways 😛 Those running store employees really know they’re stuff!
