Things I Learned This Weekend

September 26, 2011

11 miles is only one mile longer than 10, but sometimes it feels like five.

Not our best run, but Joey got his 21 miles (holy moly!!) in and I got my 11 and we’ve officially completed our longest training runs, yay!

Sunflower butter isn’t as good as everyone makes it out to be.

But man is it drippy!

Eggs are most definitely a lunch food.

Nothing beats happy hour at The Med.

Nothing.

If you forget to bring your camera to half the places you go this weekend, it will probably make for a boring post come Monday.

Sorry.

If you order mac and cheese and chocolate milk at Noodles and Co. the employee ringing you up will stare and you like you’re six.

I can’t help what my body is craving after 11 long miles.

Packing a healthy lunch can be fun.

Especially when it involves chili, FSTG chips, carrots and kombucha.

Silken tofu can taste like a really decadent cream sauce on pasta.

Minus the guilt.

And artery clogging.

If you eat dinner at your normal time, but stay out with your co-workers 2 hours past when you’re normally asleep, you will wake up feeling like you haven’t eaten in days.

And you’ll need fluffy banana pumpkin pancakes ASAP.

If you don’t tend to your Google Reader all weekend, you will have a lot of catching up to do.

Off to do just that.  Plus some stretching, lifting and working.

Happy Monday!

I looove sunflower seed butter, but I’ve been disappointed by things other bloggers rave about (*cough*Puffins*cough*), so I know how that goes. And I have gotten similar looks when ordering a PB&J at otherwise adult restaurants 😀

Hmm, I learned that pro football games are ALMOST as good as college ones, and that you can never spend too much time grocery shopping (although you CAN spend too much money 😀 )

Congrats on your run! My mom took me on a 10 k run with her this weekend and I didn’t think I would make it home. I finally just did the mile to kilometre conversion and was shocked to see how long 11 miles actually is. Yikes! I think I would have ordered that mac and cheese times three!

HEY I don’t like sunflower seed butter either!!! I think it’s really just a taste thing though, you either love it or hate it. But I’m glad to know someone else who’s on my side of the fence on that one. It tastes like dirt to me. 😛 Congrats on the 11 miles!

Thanks for the info about the sunflower butter…I just cannot justify spending 8 dollars on a jar of nut butter. One crossed off the list of “needs to try” Congrats on your 11 miles though, and your man’s 21..damn.
I totally agree with forgetting your camera makes for a boring post…I do it all the time though, not just on weekends. Oh well.

Bahah great post! I forgot about eggs for lunchtime fuel….yum 🙂

Totally awesome job putting together a post. I had the same problem today as well.

Your eats are awesome as usual, and hey I can’t blame you for the mac & cheese + chocolate milk…….you want what you want.

Congrats on the 11 miles 🙂

The post-bad-run-long feeling sucks… but it sounds like you at least took satisfaction in doing it, which is what matters. Two weeks to go!

11 miles!!! thats amazing, keep up the awesome work!! what a cute post. Sometimes I actually order straight from the kids menu and servers do give me a look. I learned that sleeping 3 hours friday night will result in sleeping all day on saturday 🙂
