WIAW & My New Nighttime Snack
Oh hey-o. Happy Wednesday to you all. I’m currently in a lovely mood that most likely has something to do with the gloom outside.
I know, who likes gloom? Well if it means reading a book curled up in bed and a breakfast of hot comforting oatmeal and tea, then the answer is me?
Plus it’s WIAW, so how could today be bad?

Yesterday was weird because I didn’t have my pre-run snack, but I woke up not feeling hungry in the slightest and really wanted to get to the run ASAP. Sometimes I don’t eat before and halfway through will be hit with extreme hunger, but no such thing happened yesterday. I was totally okay with it.
Came home and had…
Breakfast:
Topped with raisins, chocolate hazelnut butter, peanut butter and granola.
I was totally like a little squirrel eating granola out of the container after I put it on my oatmeal. Just can’t get enough.
I was supposed to go into work at 11, but a girl I work with offered to stay late so I went in at one. Can that happen everyday?
Lunch:

Just be glad I didn’t share the one I tried to take in the office at work. Not good.
Mmmm, this was truly delicious. I only wish Joey would have known to double it when he made it!
Lunch Dessert/Snack:
Chocolate Peppermint Stick Luna Bar.
I first tried Luna bars a few weeks ago and I can’t remember what flavor it was, but it was not good. I was about to accept the fact that Luna bars just weren’t for me, but then they were on sale last week, so I did what any normal person would do when they came across something they didn’t like at a crazy cheap price.
Bought 10.
Lucky for me, all the flavors are not as bad as that first one and actually, I really liked this peppermint one! Tastes like candy.
Dinner:
Grilled Summer Vegetable Salad.
Meh. It was okay.
I think my taste buds have officially moved on and all they want is fall foods.
Nighttime Snack:
Warm vanilla almond milk + a baked good.
Except that last night it was pumpkin bread, not a muffin.
And actually, it’s never been that muffin, because that was an attempt at homemade banana pumpkin muffins that did not go well.
They’re in the trash right now. I don’t want to talk about it.
If you think warm milk is gross, I assure you, you’re missing out.
I’m off for a nice gloomy 3-miler 🙂

I have almond milk at home and I think I’d like it warm — maybe with a bit of cinnamon, or even some cocoa mix (just a little). Yummmmmmm!
Ooooh, that sounds delicious! I just ran out of cocoa powder but it’s on my grocery list for next week.
I’ve been wanting to try that thai fried quinoa! Sounds so good. I used to drink warm milk before bed when I was little, my grandma would put a little honey in it and told me it would help me fall asleep. 🙂 It’s one of my favorite treats, but now with almond milk of course!
My mom used to tell me the same thing when I was younger and my dad (back when he ate dairy) would drink warm milk with ghee. So delicious!
I love warm milk 😀 Especially with a bit of honey and cinnamon. Talk about ultimate comfort… and having it with a baked treat would probably put me to sleep in an instant. A great way to end the night for sure 🙂 My favorite bedtime snack right now is a bowl of oat bran topped with Greek yogurt, flaxmeal, cinnamon, and maple syrup… helps me sleep like a baby 😀

Checking out that thai quinoa recipe, sounds yum. Anyhoo, good looking eats! I love granola too–in fact, I never buy it for just that reason, I’ll eat a whole box in a day. I wish that was an exaggeration. And my favorite nighttime snack is plain uncooked oats, nut butter and shredded coconut with a couple splashes of almond milk on top.
I’ve made that quinoa recipe twice this week, ha ha.

Chocolate dipped coconut, nutz over chocolate, and pb cookie are pretty good too.

The peppermint one is one of my favorites… I also really like nutz over chocolate and smores.
I’ll be on the lookout for nuts over chocolate!
Mmm warm milk is such a comforting snack 🙂 I have never tried that kind of Luna bar… but I personally enjoy the White Chocolate Macadamia and Smores one!

luna bars are really good. I love the lemon one as well as the dulce de leche one but I don’t know if they make those anymore. the pb cookie one pretty much tastes like pb but I really do love the chocolate pepperment one. Or smores too. haha I think I like them all.

I have enjoyed the Luna bars that I have tried, and I have been wondering if that one was any good. I didn’t get it the last time I was in the store. Now I will have to go back and get one 🙂

oh man! back in the day, there was a Chai Luna flavor…I died a little inside when they discontinued it, but the Caramel Nut Brownie is my favorite now. And your recipes always look incredible…definitely want to try that quinoa!
