In a Perfect World
Whew, I feel like I’ve been missing from the blog world for so long, even though it was only one weekend. It feels so good to be back, friends.
So what have I been doing? Packing, shopping, moving, the usual. Oh, I didn’t mention I was moving? Our lease is up at the end of this week, so Joey and I are moving in with our friend Claire who lives close by. Even if you don’t have to go far, moving is still a pain in the ass.
Oh, and I’ve been thinking. Thinking about how I wish I lived in a perfect world.
In a perfect world, dogs would stay still long enough to photograph them.
Oh, Huni, you’re still cute even if you are blurry.
In a perfect world, I would make it to the Farmer’s Market before it started to close down.
I only made it out with radishes and a pound of pasta before market hours were over.
On the upside, the radishes were gorgeous and the pasta was so unique!
In a perfect world, I would be able to resist cute “for fun” shoes and stick to finding shoes for work.
I think we all know what really happened. Please excuse my toenails that are in great need of a pedicure – I’m getting one this week, I swear!
Don’t worry, I found work shoes too.
In a perfect world, basil wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Or I would have found some at the Farmer’s Market, but we already know how that turned out.
In a perfect world, I would feel special for having a Justin’s nut butter hook up and could get new flavors before they came out in stores.
Then I saw chocolate almond butter at Whole Foods. Turns out I didn’t have it before everyone else. But I can still feel special about getting free sample packets, right? Right.
And in a perfect world, I would be able to hold out and let my hook up, well, hook me up with maple almond butter, but when I see the word “maple,” my brain says “YOU NEED THIS NOW!”
In a perfect world, my computer wouldn’t have just stopped charging.
Seriously, technology just hates me. I think I know what I’m saving up for next.
In a perfect world, I would have the time to make my own granola bars to bring to work, my work schedule wouldn’t interfere with having to move, I would have made it to yoga at least once this week and the weekend would be longer.
But this isn’t a perfect world, this is the real world. And sometimes when you’re busy, it’s easier to buy than to make.
Sometimes, your computer breaks and you just have to deal with it.
Sometimes you have to do things you don’t want to. Watching SATC > packing, but sometimes it just has to be done.
Sometimes you’re busy and there’s not enough time to do everything you want to do, so sometimes you have to prioritize.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that homemade granola bars, cookies on my new baking mat, yoga, reading and pedicures will always be there when I have time to fit them in and there’s no need to stress myself out by trying to cram everything into a weekend, or a single day for that matter.
What would happen in your perfect world?
I’m off to the Chalk Walk in Denver – you have to fit in some fun and relaxation somewhere 🙂
In a perfect world, I would have time to ride, bake and play all day. Bills? What bills? 😛 I hear you on the granola bar thing. In summer it’s so much harder for me!
Your farmer’s market looks awesome, what you were able to catch!
Apparently Boulder has a big Farmers’ Market. I wouldn’t know seeing as it’s the only one I’ve ever been to so I have nothing to compare it to!
I totally hear you on the dog holding still! I always feel like taking pictures with my dog, but he’d rather jump on me instead.
In a perfect world I would live next to the yoga studio so I could go everyday 😛
In a perfect world, CU’s medical school would be in Boulder. Damnit. Lol…I think I’ll really like Denver of course, but I’m sad to have to say goodbye to BoCO in a couple months.
Aw, bummer! But really the two aren’t that far away so you can always visit 🙂
I know I would love to cram everything in a weekend. I would love to make homemade granola bars.
Those things would all be perfect.
In my perfect world- I’d have time to make ALL of my own food. I’d also be apple to grow any type of fruit or veg that I wanted.
I hate how expensive basil is. I am going to be moving soon and am really hoping for a place where I can grow my own!
Yes, making all my own food would be nice, *if* I had the time!
Hey, for an imperfect world, your day looks pretty nice! I wish our farmers market was on Sunday…. Saturday is so inconvenient! I never want to go Saturday and so I skip out, and then Sunday rolls around and Im kicking myself. Merh!
In a perfect world….. I could actually focus on studying right now for my finals this week.
Oops, sorry to confuse you. Our FM is actually on Saturday too and it really is inconvenient!!
Good luck on your finals 🙂
In a perfect world the sun would always be out, the rain would stop, and June would actually feel like June! But hey, what can you do? Just make the most of it 😀
Happy Monday!
In my perfect work – tropical weather (ya know the sunny but cool tropical beach kind) would exist at my house year round. I wouldn’t be required to work, instead I would be able to spend my days shopping, cooking, and enjoying my family 🙂
I’m with ya on that one, Helen!
