Apple Pie a la Oats

February 13, 2011

If I said I haven’t been counting down the days till Saturday so I could take my time and make some creative oats, I would be lying.

I give you Apple Pie Oats plus pictures with the new camera 🙂

In the mix:

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 Granny Smith apple, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

Talk about delicious and it’s nice to change it up once in a while.

There’s nothing better than the smell of cinnamon and apples in the morning.  The cinnamon clung to the chia seeds, it was so weird.

Blogging behind the scenes: hello make-shift light reflector.

I wish I had had some walnuts to throw on top.  This really needed some crunch!

On the agenda for today:

  • Yoga
  • Laundry
  • Finish my paper
  • Lunch at my parents’ (My Dad has been in Mexico and I’ll be glad to see him again :))
  • Grocery shopping

CONGRATS TO MY UNCLE FOR RUNNING HIS FIRST HALF MARATHON TODAY!!! Wish I could have been there to see it.

Happy Sunday.

Wow…amazing how much light that light reflector adds. I might have to try that at some point once my photo-taking mojo comes back. I’ve been so bad about pics recently! Lol. Your new camera’s pics look great!

I’m totally with you on the crunch factor! I have to have something crunchy on my oats!
Does that light reflector really work well? I need to do something soon because I don’t know how many more yellow pics I can take lol!

It definitely makes a difference. I’m so ready for summer when the sun doesn’t set at 5 PM and I can actually take pictures of my dinner!!

I love apples and cinnamon in oatmeal, although I always need to top it off with a spoon of peanut butter. 🙂 I actually don’t like adding nuts to my oats though, which is weird because I love them in other things.

Ok this is to ironic. I just diced up what was left of my son’s granny smith apple to microwave it and mix with some granola for a snack. Well I had more apple than necessary for my snack. I put the rest in the fridge to save for tomorrow’s breakfast of apple cinnamon oats! I just sat down and pulled up your blog….of course your name is more creative than mine, lol!
