Pic-a-nic Basket
I woke up this morning and got in a run before it got too terribly hot. I was supposed to have company but he chose sleep over running 😦
I rocked a tie dye shirt I made in the 11th grade, ha ha love it!
I pounded out 5 solo miles and purposely went a liiitle slower than usual, hoping I wouldn’t run out of energy as fast as I have been this whole week.
It worked! No stopping 🙂
- Mile 1 – 10:16
- Mile 2 – 9:59
- Mile 3 – 9:52
- Mile 4- 9:41
- Mile 5 – 9:38
At 11:30 Joey and I headed to a local dog park for a little picnic action with the whole family. I hadn’t seen Gabe, Nikki and G in what felt like forever! They are getting ready for their wedding, which happens right after we get back from New Orleans, soooo exciting!!
My parents brought quite the spread — salad fixings galore!
I snacked on some guac
And some locally made tapenade we picked up from the FM. I.LOVE.TAPENADE!
I fixed up a salad with greens, black beans,WF orzo salad, pico de gallo, some spicy homemade dressing and cuc and red onion salad on the side.
Gotta love a plate full of greens!
After eating my sister and I lounged in the grass (which was a little wet…)
🙂
Then we may or may not have started AND finished this giant container of strawberries. I haven’t bought strawberries in SO long so I had to get my fill!
We stopped by the Lillabee tent yesterday at the FM and sampled their gluten free dairy free brownies and yellow muffins. Both were EXCELLENT so of course we had to get a bag of each mix. Beanie and I made them yesterday for the picnic. The brownies didn’t turn out as light and fluffy as we had hoped but the muffins were awesome. We added in strawberries and it turned out really well. I just had a bite of the brownie (not a big fan of these in general) and shared the muffin with Beanie.
I’m so in need of a nap! Hope you’re getting some relaxation/family time in on this lovely Sunday 🙂
Those s-berries are making my mouth water!
They were every bit as good as they look!
