A Birthday Letter
Warning: mushiness ahead.
To my best friend.
The love of my life.
The person I can always depend on to bring a smile to my face.
I may not say it enough, but I feel truly blessed to have you in my life.
To go to Rockies games, eat ice cream, run races and cook with.
To sing, laugh, and dream with.
You are the happiest part of my life and I hope to spend many many more birthdays with you.
Even if that means having to go to Los Arcos ![]()
Happy Birthday, Joey!!!!
Opening Day Year 4
It’s hard to believe yesterday was my 4th year in a row of going to Rockies Opening Day. Who am I and when did I start liking sports baseball (I’m still not on board with that whole football thing. Or golf, or hockey, or soccer…)?
I swear it was just coincidence that I started becoming a real Rockies fan the same year they went to the World Series (I went to game 4 and yes I’m bragging).
2008
2009
2010
And finally, 2011
Do we look different? I’m minus a nose ring, a tongue ring and 4 inches of dark red hair, so I’d say yes.
It was a long long day. We got to the park around 11:30 and didn’t get back till 7!
Joey apparently can’t make up his mind on where he wants his season ticket seats to be. I feel like we move every year. This year we’re right up against the bullpen (aka the place where the pitchers warm up).
Which turned out to be really fun.
Joey can watch his favorite player, catcher Chris Iannetta.
And I can take countless pictures of our fabulous pitcher, Ubaldo Jimenez. He threw a no hitter last year and that’s a big deal for those of you who didn’t know ![]()
And the sun finally reached us by the 7th inning and it got really hot. Note how the little old lady next to me is in a sweatshirt.
Also note that fresh looking new hat Joey has. Compliments of me – an early birthday present ![]()
The game went into extra innings (hence the late ending time) and we unfortunately lost in the 11th, 7-6. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow. And I’ll be there. Although I promise not to bore you with another baseball heavy post.
Later, loves!
Do You Know What Today Is?
It’s…
Opening Day!
You know, for the Rockies. Baseball. You with me?
So I’m probably off doing things like this.
Or this.
And eating things like this.
Okay, just kidding about that part. As a rule, I don’t eat cheese that is somehow always melty and that hot dog looks disgusting and probably cost $10.
I can’t speak for Joey though.
Hopefully we leave with one of these.
No, not a jumbo TV, a win.
Happy Friday Opening Day ![]()
